Bamboo Flooring Product Information - Types And Styles

Bamboo flooring is a fabulous way of adding that something special to your home. It offers natural wood splendor while being a green, earth-friendly, renewable resource. A healthy alternative to traditional wood flooring, Natural Bamboo Flooring is extremely durable and made from premium quality bamboo--a product that renews itself every 7 years!

A natural looking bamboo floor uses clear and semi-clear finishes. This enhances the natural tones of the bamboo while protecting it from moisture and staining.

Carbonized bamboo is accomplished by applying extreme heat to steam the material. The result is a darkened color that goes throughout the flooring. The net result is a carbonized bamboo floor that has less of a tendency to show chips, nicks or indentations.

Bamboo can also be color-stained to create a full range of rich wood tones.

Bamboo flooring is manufactured in two unique styles. Vertical grain is cut along the length of the plank resulting in a thinner striping that has a faster more varied set of color variations. Horizontal grains are cut along their width resulting is a meatier grain showing with repeating "knuckle" along knots, joints and other unique features.
